The Mitre dates
back to 1850 and is a Grade II listed
building which has been used in two Woody Allen films. Set in the
lovely area of Lancaster Gate we are just round the corner from Hyde
Park, attracting many tourists. They particularly appreciate the
traditional feel created by the many original features including the wood work, glass and mosaic flooring.
The pub is traditionally decorated in keeping with Victorian times and
there are two
lovely fire places which we light in winter. It is large inside with plenty
of seating, a small area known as 'the snug' as well as the main bar
area. There are two smaller areas with comfy seating, sofas and
armchairs. If it is complete comfort while you are dining or relaxing over
a pint then look no further than the Mitre. Our food is all British
produce and we offer a homemade Sunday roast which is very popular.
Our clientele includes the regular locals, office workers from the surrounding businesses
and visitors to London. We look forward to seeing you soon.
When you visit
the pub please let the staff know you have seen it on Pub Explorer.
