Ye Olde Mitre PhotoThis very famous well hidden pub built in 1546, is located in Ely Court off Hatton Gardens, (directions below). Ye Olde Mitre is a genuine old pub, once being host to Queen Elizabeth who danced round our unique feature, a cherry tree in the corner of the bar.  This is an authentic 'real' pub having no TVs, music or electronic games!  The Mitre has both a bar and lounge, as well as an upstairs function room.  Outside you will find a beer barrel area, an ideal place for having a drink in the warm weather.
The pub is easily accessible via the Chancery Lane Tube Station. Walk down hill to Holborn Viaduct, turn left into Hatton Gardens, cross over to the other side & pub is at the end of the alleyway, to the side of number 9 Hatton Gardens which is Hirsch the Jewellers.  Nearby attractions include the jewellery centre at Hatton Gardens, St Paul's Cathedral & Smithfield Market area. The pub is available at weekends for location work for programmes and documentaries, ideal for period dramas. We have featured in many recent programmes for the BBC and radio as well as the film "Snatch" starring Brad Pitt, produced by Guy Richie.  The pub is available for filming or live recordings, subject to availability. Tourists are very welcome here with friendly and helpful staff offering good quality beverages including some well kept real ales.  The pub is also renowned internationally for its toasted sandwiches.  If you visit this part of London, you must come to Ye Olde Mitre.  A great experience is guaranteed!

When you visit the pub please let the staff know you have seen it on Pub Explorer.
